Built-inscanningcapabilities
Abuilt-inscanningfeatureallowsyoutoautomaticallymonitor,orscan,con-
nectedcomputerswithoutintervention.Whenkeyboardactivityisdetected,
scanningissuspendeduntilallactivitystops.Scanningthenresumeswiththe
nextchannelinsequence.Youcanswitchcomputerchannelsinoneoftwo
ways:viatheSelectbuttonorwithasimplekeyboardsequence.
IndicatorLEDsgiveyouconstantreadingsonthestatusofyourSwitchView
MPunit.StatusandchannelLEDstaketheguessworkoutofsystemoperation
anddiagnostics.

inCommandMode.Now,whateveryoutypewillbeinterpretedasSwitchView
systemcommandsuntilEnterispressedtoacceptthecommandorEscapeis
pressedtocancel.

typeofattachedcomputer.However,whencrossingplatforms,certainkeyswill
needtobe‘remapped’inordertoprovideallofthefunctionsavailableonthe
keyboardnativetothatplatform.Forexample,ifyouaccessaSunworkstation
withaPS/2keyboard,youwillnoticethatthePS/2keyboarddoesnothavethe
STOPandAGAINkeysthatareonatrueSunkeyboard.But,byturningScroll
Lockon,theF1andF2keysonthePS/2keyboardfunctionastheSunSTOPand
AGAINkeys.WithScrollLockoff,F1andF2functionnormally.Table1below
